[Fourlanders] Soco Bald Campground

  As far as I know no one has ever done FD from Mile High/Soco Bald
campground. (I live in Asheville, so I'm pretty familiar with the FD
activities in the area, and I've been licensed a long time.)

  The Haywood County group chose a site near Clyde (east of Waynesville)
last year; another club that I'm a member of operated from the Cherokee
Nation EOC (mostly as a demo).  One group from Raleigh or Charlotte (I
forget which) did operate FD from Black Balsam last year; that is located
on the Parkway about halfway between Cherokee and Asheville. That's all the
FD activity that I know about in the area close to Soco Bald,

  So I'm guessing you are pretty much home free if you want to use the
campground
