Well, we are coming down to the wire and things are looking pretty good.
Contest times: 2PM Saturday to 11 PM Sunday night, continuous.
The 6m, 222 and 432 stations are all set up and ready to go and Kos will bring
2m before the contest, maybe on Friday night. I have had the 6m and (a)2m
station on the air. 2m net sounded real good last night on the higher than usual
antennas. I plan to test 222 tonight on the 222 net and 432 on the
Wednesday night net.
Operators signed up for the contest: Kim WG8S, Jim W4KXY, Ivan K4VJM, Kos
N4NIA, Jerry W5TDY, Jack K5FSE, Bill KI4US, Johnny K4SQC, Scott NN4W, Ron WW8RR, Brian NX9O and Bob W4ZST. All the available beds are now taken.
Here's some great news. Jerry is cooking one of his famous briskets for dinner
on Saturday night along with beans and cornbread and I'll make the slaw.
On Sunday, I'll cook pancakes and sausage for breakfast, Ham and Turkey
sandwiches and chips for lunch and Spaghetti, salad and bread for dinner.
The weather looks like it will be decent for the contest. Cooler but no rain so
I think we will be happy with that.
Some folks are planning to be here on Saturday morning and some are going to meet for lunch before coming up. Some will meet at Johnny B's for lunch at 11:30 and others may go to Rooster's at the same time. We moved up to 11:30 as sometimes in the past we have been a little late getting back and ready for 2PM. Join us at one of these two places for a good lunch (and some serious BS) before the contest starts.
Looking forward to a good time and good contest conditions. See you this
weekend.

Ron has put the old WA4IOB beacons back on the air from his house signing WW8RR for now. They sound real good here and it's nice to have a 222 beacon back on. Listen for them: 144.285, 222.053, 432.352
They will eventually go back to the original location on Lanier Mountain in
Snellville and sign K4UHF with the six digit grid square.
Lyle N4QH has also put up a 222 beacon in Toccoa. It is on 222.075 in EM84im. Lyle also plans to put a 432 beacon on sometime soon.
