Howdy…

Normally, MS seems to know when it’s me doing an upgrade, and upgrades have been ‘fun’.

This go round, from 7 to 10, Murphy stayed home and everything went very smoothly….on 4 computers.

Have to say, looks very good so far (since early Oct).

I agree. however, in this case, I went ahead and pulled the trigger just to stop the microsoft nag.

I have had zero issue thus far...

My 2 cents on Windows 10. You don't ever buy a car the first model year that it comes out and the same goes for software. It is always rushed out the door faster than it should be (haven't we all been there) and I personally don't like being their beta tester. Wait a year or two for the first service pack then see how it looks. Until then I will be sticking with Windows 7 both at home and work.

I need to provide my Windows 10 experience that has been significantly different than Tom N4NW's.

I moved on to Windows 10 in late July this year. I found it a solid, reliable and good looking operating system. I now have all three PC's on Windows 10.

As for Ham program integration - no problems here. I am a heavy user of DX Labs Suit and have the microKEYER II and Green Heron Rotator controller all under PC control.

Other programs including N1MM, MMTTY, Alpha Monitor (for Alpha amplifiers), CW Skimmer, CW Get, HamCap, IonoProbe, VE7CC-User, Green Heron rotator control, WSJT-X and others continue to work without being touched following the W-10 upgrade. I put most of these in the 64 bit Program Files folder, some in the 32 bit folder.

>From my view - don't hesitate to move onto Windows 10. I got there via the free upgrade and all machines were upgraded without a hitch. The wonderful part of the upgrade was all applications were there with no hint of a problem. Just the OS was changed underneath them.
