Yeh, this is somewhat old news.
The planned discontinuation of the radio was announced to me 4 years ago when I picked up the TS-2000 from Kenwood when they donated one as the main doorprize at our Atlanta 2014 SVHFS conference.
The radio has been around for over 15 years now and suppliers still have them in stock.

No surprise there. I remember hearing or reading somewhere a year or so ago that Kenwood was going to dicontinue the TS2000 and was trying to sell what they had in stock. That transceiver has been around a long time. 10+ years? Probably too long. The real question is are they going to come out with something to replace it?
