[Fourlanders] January contest update

Hello everyone. Let me add a couple of things to Bobs email. First, a reminder that 2018 dues are payable during the contest. Dues are $30 but several of you are owed refunds from the September contest debacle so those folks need to get with me about how much they owe for 2018. Please bring cash (correct change if possible please) or a check made out to the Fourlanders (not me!). Second, a reminder that we will be having our first and probably only official Fourlanders meeting for 2018. Everyone needs to attend if possible and be engaged this year. We will be electing officers and I don’t think this year will be the usual suspects continuing to do the same jobs. I will let Bob elaborate more on that if he wishes. There has also been some discussion around if we will be continuing to go to Mile High for the June and September contests. None of us are getting any younger and I will leave it at that for now. We will probably have the meeting Sunday afternoon after lunch during the doldrums when everyone is watching football playoffs or whatever. I know that people tend to start leaving then but please try to stay for the meeting. Any questions or thoughts contact Bob and/or me. Thanks.

Subject: [Fourlanders] January contest update

Time is finally getting closer for the contest.  I think things are
still coming together well even though I have not been doing anything.
I've been sick since just after Christmas and finally feeling much
better yesterday and today.

Current plans are for Jim W4KXY and maybe Johnny K4SQC coming to the
shack tomorrow.  Jim will reinstall and test the 6m BIP/BOP box and
remote and Johnny will set up the 6m station.  Johnny may wait until
Monday.  We will see.

Ron and Kos still have to plan days to come set-up the 432 and 2m
stations for the contest.

I really haven't heard much from any of you about accommodations for the
contest.  Please let me know if you would like to stay Friday and/or
Saturday night.  I'll have the usual spaces available but need to know
please!

I suppose it would be good to get a confirmation of operators also,
those staying overnight or not for the food planning.  Rick KK4LPP has
graciously volunteered to take care of our Saturday night dinner and
will need a count for that.  I will supply Sunday breakfast and lunch
for those here including visitors and will need a count for that also.
We have decided for Sunday evening dinner to either order something or
pick up for those remaining until the end of the contest at 11PM.

A reminder that we will meet for lunch Saturday morning at 11:30 at
Rooster's before the contest kick-off at 2PM.  That will give us time to
socialize, eat and get back to the shack in time for the contest.

Thanks and 73, Bob
