I see what they are saying and they build the things so they certainly know best on how they should be configured. My only concern is, like you, if you switch from USB-D to USB and don’t change the max power you could blow some expensive tubes/FETs in your PA. The solution to this would be the ability to set the max power independently for each mode but the 7300 doesn’t do that. You can’t even set the max power independently for each band. One of the short comings for that radio for sure along with the single antenna port. Still a great rig though.
