I found this tool some time ago from VK9KF and just revisited it during the last month when all this FCC exposure chatter began again. Is this the one you used ?

http://hintlink.com/power_density.htm

Or maybe this one which is similar :

http://www.lakewashingtonhamclub.org/resources/rf-exposure-calculator/

My main concern has been when I set up the 6M tower trailer in my driveway and I operate (500 watts) from my garage for the last few VHF contests when we do the aggregated scoring efforts of our individual stations.

Here is the link to the original ARRL bulletin on the subject issued back on April 12th:

http://www.arrl.org/news/updated-radio-frequency-exposure-rules-become-effective-on-may-3

Here is a rather useful FAQ discussion recently released from the ARRL to answer some questions and give guidance on the topic at hand:

And lastly, here is the link to download Ed Hare's book mentioned in the ARRL bulletin listed above:

Yes, Ron. True.

Out of curiosity, a couple of weeks ago I took a look at things. I did this Google search, along with some reading:

I haven't given it much thought due to this statement issued from the ARRL in the original announcement a few months ago:

"For stations already in place, that evaluation must be completed by May 3, 2023.

After May 3 of this year, any new station, or any existing station modified in a way that’s likely to change its RFE profile — such as different antenna or placement or greater power — will need to conduct an evaluation by the date of activation or change."

Well, I haven't made any changes, nor do I expect to.

Also, this statement was in the last sentence of the original ARRL bulletin :

"In addition, ARRL is developing tools that all hams can use to perform exposure assessments"

So….I now await the ARRL announcement about new tools being made available.

All,

Just curious if anyone has started to deal with these rules yet, They go into effect 3 May 2021. We as hams are no longer excluded but must be in compliance The issue for us is going to be the need to do a "full analysis" on 2m 222, 70cm and above..

As Winnie the Pooh would say, "Oh bother!"

John
