For those of you who have attended the Huntsville Hamfest for the past eight (8) years or so, you have seen that effort headed up by Charlie, N4OKL.

 

Besides a ham, Charlie was also a personal friend of mine.  He died this past Saturday morning of an apparent heart attack.  An obit of sorts can be seen on the main page for the Huntsville Hamfest (http://www.hamfest.org/).

 

Charlie "worked" that Hamfest like a job.  He didn't stress or lose sleep over it.  He was retired, and he attended hamfests throughout the southeast and Dayton to promote the Huntsville Hamfest, and recruit vendors.

 

Charlie was a people person, so meeting hams and enjoying food were right up his alley in promoting Huntsville!
