All,

Last weekends ISS SSTV event was very successful with over 5,000 images submitted from around the world.  It was so successful that working with Roscom  a repeat has been scheduled for this weekend.

"ARISS Russia team member Sergey Samburov, RV3DR, worked with the mission control center flight controllers to schedule in ISS crew member time to configure the JVC Kenwood radio to support SSTV operations in the Service Module.  SSTV setup is expected to start around 8:45 UTC on February 15 and conclude around 17:25 UTC on February 17.  These dates/times are expectations and may vary."

"A
s a reminder, you can get the latest SSTV information on the ARISS SSTV Blog Spot:  http://ariss-sstv.blogspot.com/  Once received, Images can be posted and viewed by the public at http://www.spaceflightsoftware.com/ARISS_SSTV/index.php   And you can receive a special SSTV ARISS Award for posting your image. See https://ariss.pzk.org.pl/sstv/.  For simplicity, we have added a new tab for SSTV, under general contacts, on the ARISS web site www.ariss.org"

Let's see how many images NFARL members and FourLanders can capture.  Again the receive setup is pretty straight forward.  You'll need a 2m FM radio capable of Rx on 145.800 MHz.  You will need a SSTV program.  If you have nothing go with RxSSTV ( http://users.belgacom.net/hamradio/rxsstv.htm )  If you cannot go directly from you 2m rig to the computer, consider recording it and then acoustically coupling the audio into the computer after the contact..  Easy, free and lots of fun - it is magic to watch as the computer turns a bunch of tones on 2m into a picture.
