Tom,

I’m in Southern California this week on vacation.  I rigged up my KX2 with an EF 20/40 meter antenna, sloping from a tree.  Last night (Tuesday, approx. 5:30 Pacific time until about 7:00) I could hear both Audrey (7 meters) and Jack (20 meters).

I tried for an hour to make contact with Audrey, she had a nice signal into Oceanside.  I just did not have enough umph (10watts max) to make it through the noise.  20 meters was too light, and I knew there was no way I could make that trip with my QRP setup with the activity I could hear on my end trying for Jack.

Give them both my regards, they are doing a GREAT job working DX.

73 & Good DX,
W5TDY - Jerry
