Subject: [N3FJPSoftware] Amateur Contact Log 6.6 is Now Available!
Hi All,
I'm excited to let you know that...
Amateur Contact Log 6.6 is Now Available!
AC Log 6.6. includes the following enhancements:
- DX Spotted digital mode frequencies can be blocked or enabled
independently from CW / SSB. Click More Filtering on the DX Spotting set
up form to configure. If you enable digital, be sure to check the check
box to display digital modes.
- Use Shift (or Ctrl + Shift) + Up / Down, Left / Right
arrows to tune your rig's frequency (with rig interface enabled).
- Font control for bearing, miles, time, etc. (click
Settings > Appearance > Colors & Fonts).
- Ability to query all digital modes together on the awards form
(enter DIG on the Awards form's mode field).
- Added Yaesu - Newer 2 option on the rig interface form's rig
list to support Yaesu 991, Yaesu 101 D and Yaesu 101 MP.
- User added DX Spotting telnet sites are saved and available for
selection in the drop down list on the DX Spotting set up form.
- LoTW Download - made state and county data additions optional
for countries outside USA (control from the check box on the LoTW set up form).
- Passive Mode Option for FTP Web Upload (Settings > Web Upload
Status Settings).
As always, upgrades are free
to registered users. Please just follow these upgrade steps here:
Lord willing, if I can complete
all the upgrades in time, I am planning a global release of all my contest
software in early January, which will include all of the non AC Log specific
features listed above as well!
More Details on Keyboard Fine Tuning:
I am particularly excited about
the new keyboard fine tuning feature. It was inspired while using my
contest software and it really came in handy in my contest betas during CQ WW
SSB and ARRL Sweepstakes CW, so I have gone ahead and added it to AC Log, too.
I have really been enjoying using
the various contest software options to quickly jump to the next spotted
station including Ctrl + Shift + Z, jump to next DX Spot on entry,
clicking on a spot, etc., but occasionally the spotted frequency is slightly
off, requiring a reach for the VFO. I wanted the ability to tune in the
station more quickly, without having to reach for the rig, so I've coded the
software to do just that! Here are the keyboard commands:
SSB:
Ctrl + Right / Left (large
jump): +-500 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Right / Left
(medium jump): +-150 Hz
Ctrl + Down / Up (small
jump): +-50 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Down / Up (tiny
jump): +-10 Hz
CW / DIG:
Ctrl + Right / Left (large
jump): +-250 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Right / Left
(medium jump): +-80 Hz
Ctrl + Down / Up (small
jump): +-20 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Down / Up
(tiny jump): +-5 Hz
That may seem complicated, but
don't get caught up in the actual values. I think when you try it and
actually tune in stations on the air with your keyboard, it will quickly become
intuitive. In most cases, I found simply holding Ctrl and using the Up /
Down arrow keys was sufficient to quickly tune in a station that was
slightly off from his spotted frequency.
Pre Contest Checklist Reminder!
With ARRL November Sweepstakes
SSB and CQ WW CW coming up, I want to remind everyone to please take a
moment and review this pre contest checklist. Most of the contest support
questions I receive are from those who haven't. I use it myself, every
time.

"I
know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding
these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't
fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your
continued efforts?"
Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very
welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:
