You said EM74wd was the center of the club area but that isn’t anywhere near Cartersville. Its over by Cumming.

I just punched in the furthest location I used in January, EM72PU. It was 95 miles.
Looks like I’m in the circle. Thats assuming I do something similar this next time.

I also punched in some other spots I have been considering that are a bit further away.
They also seem to be within 175mi.

There are a couple that are just outside the circle but these are just in the thinking stages and not something I will be considering soon.

Jeff,

Interesting question.  We are using a 175 miles radius circle centered in EM74wd as our club center.  That is in the Cartersville area.  You might want to take your route and see how it fits within that circle.

I am not a member but would like to join.
What do I need to do other than send you $30?

I will be running rover during the contests.
If I rove outside the club area I imaging those contacts wouldn’t count toward the club score.
I image I will be mostly if not totally in the club area.

Yes, you need to send me $30 so you are official. You can send me a check made out to the Fourlanders or I do PayPal. We are all going to operate from our home stations and then combine our scores for the contest club competition. Please get on the air for the contest. When you submit your log be sure to put Fourlanders down as your club.

Let me know if I need to pay dues.

If we can't operate from Mile High, I can get on the air on 6m, 2m, and 70cm SSB, and 220 MHz FM.

well, with the adventures, it looks like some interesting contest operations in the near future.

in several discussions with the club leadership, we have proposed a couple of interesting operation solutions:

- remote operation of stations at the W4ZST QTH. this has some interesting challenges, including amp and rotor control.
- club operation from our home stations.  a 175 mile circle based in Cartersville, GA includes Paul, Bill, Kim, and the folks near around Atlanta.  This would allow each member to operate from their home QTH in the contest and comine our club score.
We, as a club, must submit a complete list of operators prior to the contest. We are building that list now.  If you wish to participate, please make sure you are a current member for 2020.
W4KXY is busy, but he can help process dues. If you have quesitons, contact me.

thanks, and lets get on the air for the VHF contest in June maybe from our own homes...
hopefully, this will be a short term solution, but we plan to be prepared for whatever comes.
