Howdy, I wanted to let everyone know of my plans for the ARRL VHF contest this coming weekend. On Sunday (June 14th) I will be mountain topping on Rabun Bald (
https://goo.gl/maps/cccMXpkPxEUpqBsU6). I will be QRV early in the morning on Sunday, and likely stay up there until late evening or sunset. I will also be up there with Ted (K4KPW) as well. Don't forget Ryan (WG4I) will also be up there all weekend, doing FM only on 6m/2m/222mhz/70cm. Don't miss working him! Below is a list of the radio, bands, and antennas I will have there.
Yaesu 817 with 5 watts.
6m:
Antenna: Moxon
Modes: SSB / FT8
2m:
Antenna: 3 element yagi
Modes: SSB / FM / FT8
222:
Antenna: Rubber Duck / J-pole
Modes: FM
70cm:
Antenna: 7 element yagi
Modes: SSB, FM, FT8
1.2ghz (Alinco HT with 1 watt):
Antenna: 16 element yagi (I'll have this mounted horizontal as most folks are horizontal anyways)
Modes: FM
My cell service up there is somewhat unreliable. I will try to monitor the slack chat room, and respond to messages there. If you want to schedule a contact, please text me at 678-549-3064. If we end up making a QSO on a band, we can move up or down the bands accordingly.
Hope to see you on the air this weekend!
73,
David
