[FRC] FT-920 - help

I am having a problem down here at KP2 with the FT-920. I like to use vox to
run(I know real hams don't use vox). If someone throws a carrier on me or if
there is a big pileup, I can't transmit unless I use a foot switch. The vox
control is all the ccw. Doesn't matter whether dsp is on or off. If I run
split on 40 and there is a carrier on my transmit freq, than it's okay. But
whether I use the main receive vfo or the sub-vfo and there is a strong
carrier then I can't transmit.

Any ideas?
