Seeking info on how Ennis Hooper and other Hoopers of Caldwell Co, KY are
related to the Union County, KY Hoopers
ENNIS HOOPER
BORN ca 1788 in NC
and listed in court records as an orphan and apprenticed to his "uncle" Enoch Hooper in Livingston Co., KY court records in 1811 (Originally had been apprenticed to a Mr. Leeper)
MARRIED Elizabeth Wood in Livingston Co, KY in 1811
DIVORCED from Elizabeth in 1832 for reason of her insanity
DIED in Caldwell in 1860's
CHILDREN:Had several children
1. Mary Ann Hooper who was widow of Cordy Cook of Caldwell. Mary Ann later remarried. She had children by both husbands.
2. Enoch C. Hooper -oldest son
3. 3 other daughters
4. Laban S. Hooper ( According to microfim of Civil War veterans' graves, Laban S. Hooper was a Confederate soldier buried in 1864 in the middle of the Hooper family cemetery in Caldwell. He is presumed to be the youngest son of Ennis Hooper and Elizabeth Wood.
Would appreciate any information from others researching this family.
