Subject: Hooper Information
I am a Casey researcher and have been tracing a Susan Casey Hooper who I believe is the daughter of Thomas Crafts Casey (b. 1790 Camden Co. NC) and Eliza Jacomine Woodard Casey. I have documented that Thos. C. Casey left Currituck Co. NC by Dec. 1829 and went to TN Davidson Co.area. He is in Cheatham Co. TN in the 1850 & 60 census. His pension 1812 record says he resided in the Ashland City area in 1873-74. He marries Sarah Syrena Gower in 1853 and starts a new family. I have an obit in Williamson Co. TN that I believe is Eliza J. Caseys in 1839.
That is the background. My family has a letter which states that one Susan Casey Hooper in 1893 had in her posssession HER grandfather's Bible which had been given to her by her father. I have researched and documented all of Thomas C. Casey's brothers and none had a daughter named Susan, but one, and she has been accounted for and not a Hooper marriage. That only left Thomas C.Caseys children to find.
Thomas C. Caseys brothers were William, M.Ross, Dempsey, Graham and Frederick.Only living sister that has been proven-Margaret.
With that information, I recently came across the 1870 Adairville Logan Co. Kty census :
William Hooper 47
Susan F. 38
Margaret 14
William R 10
Woodard 7
Thomas 6
Cacy D. 4
Graham 2
There is a Cheatham Co. marriage record in 1861 for a Susan F Casey m. William Hooper, Parents Thomas C. Casey and Sarah .
Puzzles pieces but not any glue yet. I am emailing you as a Hooper researcher , to see if your network has any information that would help me proof this connection.
Thank You.
Alicia Jones
