In the name of God Amen. I John Hooper of Murray Harbor Lot Sixty-Four
(64) Prince Edward Island, being weak in body but of perfect mind and
memory thanks be to God. Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and
knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain
this my last Will and Testament:
That is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my
soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend
to the earth to be buried in descent Christian burial at the discretion
of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I
shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as
touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me
in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following
manner and form:
First, I give and bequeath to my son Obadiah Hooper all the right,
title and interest in and unto sixty acres of land situated on Township
Sixty-Four (64). Also I will and bequeath unto my son (as aforesaid)
all my personal estate whatsoever subject to the following conditions,
namely;
That my sons John Hooper, Thomas Hooper, Henry Hooper, David Hooper,
also my daughter Sarah Hooper, and Isabella Giddings wife of Isaac
Giddings shall be paid $ one dollar each out of my Real or personal
estate in one month after my decease.
Also I do hereby appoint James Davey son of Charles Davey of Lot
Sixty-Four together with my son Obadiah my Executors of this my last
Will and Testament all and singular my lands, messuages and tenements
by him freely to be possessed and enjoyed. And I do hereby utterly
disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments,
Wills, legacies, bequests and Executors by me in any Wills before named
willed and bequeathed ratifying and conforming this and no other to be
my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day
of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy nine.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by me, the
said John Hooper as my last Will and Testament
in his presence and in the presence of each other
have subscribed our names.
