     Likinhorne UK, eh? Cornish DNA contains very identifiable celtic markers. A comparison of Hooper DNA tests to local Cornish DNA results should resolve this question.

     I've heard this same story from three different sets of Hoopers (my Dad; Jack Hooper in NC; and
Mrs. Kelly Hooper's father-in-law in Greeneville NC) The story tells of three Hooper brothers surviving a shipwreck off the coast of colonial NC and _they_ are Obadiaha's first ancestors in the new world.

     The city of Bath, NC is in the Pamlico Sound and was up and running by 1715. If someone with access to shipwreck records can run backward from Obadiaha 50-60 years, searching for NC shipwrecks and the brothers Hooper, we then would have a Foriegn Port of Origin in the chain of title going back to our UK origins.
