Happy New Year Folks!
I'm working to get Thomas Hooper's family graveyard listed with the Cobb County Government Historic Cemetery Preservation Office as a historical site.
My goal is to get US Parks Dept. historical designation for this site, the adjoining Thos. Hooper homestead, the graves of Enoch and Priscilla Hooper/ Hooper's Mill, Hooper's General Store & James Hooper's home in Buckhead, Hooper's Alley in Decatur and the grave/home of Obadiah Hooper, Sr.
This will take a while and will need the help of those with historic registry experience and SAR/DAR affiliations to encourage the local membership to assist.
In Ga, historic preservation requests must be submitted by a civic orginization. I'm sure other states use the same boiler plate law for this matter.
I'd suggest 'we' preserve every site possible now, because this won't get any easier to do later.
Once Again, Happy New Year Everyone.
