Published in the Limestone Democrat, August 5, 1937:
Funeral services for Obediah G. Hooper, Coxey resident, were held at  
the home there Sunday and interment followed in the Wallace Cemetery.  
The Rev. E. J. Craddock of Nashville conducted the rites, Spry in  
charge. Death occurred Saturday after a lingering illness.
Eighty-two years of age, Mr. Hooper had spent his entire life in North  
Alabama, where he was widely known and respected. He was a life-long  
member of the Presbyterian Church and had given much in worldly goods  
and inspiration to that church and its congregation.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Doug Sanders of Sheffield; two sons,  
Veto Hooper of Tuscumbia and D. D. Hooper of this county, who have the  
sympathy of many friends in their loss.
