[kids] N9XX Kid's day report

Operators at N9XX in Wisconsin were: Becky, age 5, color variable (see
comments), Jim, age 13, color red, and dad Dan.

Comments:

The first QSO had Becky running from the shack in terror, so I had to
finish it, but she came back a half hour later determined to make one on
her own.  She even wanted to call KG7HQ again, but we listened as Willow
and her dad had to QRT.  By the end of the event, we were "fighting"
over the mike foot switch!  Unfortunately for her, a block or two tied
to it would have helped.  Becky also started getting bored with her
original color choice of Pink, so toward the end she changed to Purple,
Orange, Blue, Green, Yellow and even Turquoise!  Sunday she was begging
to get back on Sunday at 12 noon (1800 UTC here), but I had to gently
explain to her that she had to wait until June for the next one.

Jim was just as interested in operating, but a speech impediment related
to his Down Syndrome made it a little difficult.  Jim did have four
really nice QSOs with a little coaching.  The other ops, kids and adults
both, were really great with him.  He had an ear-to-ear smile when his
turn was done!

I was impressed by the operating accumen of some of the kids - K0RF's
Kendra has all the earmarks of a real contester - usual booming K0RF
signal aside!
