This was our third year operating Kid's Day. My son Steven was really
looking forward to it again. Previous attempts were clouded with poor band
condx and rig problems. This time Steven had an earlier commitment which
only allowed a short amount of time operating at the end of the event.
The highlight was Steven's last contact with W5RRR, Kent at NASA/Johnson
Space Center. This was exciting for him (and me). Kent was great with the
kids and we already have a QSL card with SASE off to him. Kent explained the
function of the NASA/JSC and had to take a list of kids that wanted to have
a QSO. We'll try again next year for a full-blown effort.
Steven Dinelli is 10-years old, he lives in Skokie, Illinois and his
favorite color is blue. Rig is a Drake C Line running 100-watts to a ground
mounted vertical.
