Now THIS was fun!! Lauren had a ball. It only took a few Q's for her to get in
the swing of things (the last time she was on was Kids Day in 1994!). She
hasn't
shown much interest until now. Once she learned about CQing, that was all
she wanted to do...she was very content to run. When things would die
down, and I would suggest that we tune around for others, she would S&P
for about 5 minutes, and then say :"Dad, can't I call CQ??"!!! Plus, as
her totals climed, she decided that she needed to make 50 QSO's. When
we reached 50, she changed the goal to 100!! A contester is born!!!
(We never made it to 100....she started to get tired after a very late New
Year's Eve!). I was pleased at how well she handled herself. The best
part is now she wants to get a license!!
