Freedom Trail District “Keeper of the Flame” 2004 Fall Camporee at the
duPont Granogue estate in Montchanin, DE will be held on October 15-17 and
will
include JOTA as an event on Saturday.

JOTA will be using my callsign, WB3LGC, and possibly the callsigns of KC3AM,
and WB3FUP.  We will operate in and around the BSA frequencies of 20m and
40m.
 We will be on the air during the Saturday morning and afternoon events
(9:00am – Noon and 1:30pm – 4:30pm).  We may be on the air for extended
hours if
time (and manpower) permits.

Over 300 Webelos and Boy Scouts are registered for the event.

BTW, The staff for the Camporee wasn’t thinking JOTA.  They asked me to set
up an astronomy “star party” after the Saturday night campfire.  I made sure
JOTA was added to the events and I will include my telescope at the JOTA
location to look at sunspots (the way things are going, the sun may not have
any…).
Yes, the telescope has a special filter.  (In the evening, the moon sets
shortly after sunset, on the east coast. So, it also makes a wonderful
weekend to
look up and enjoy the stars, too.)
