I also wonder whether the ARRL does enough to promote the event.
Tree N6TR started this event years ago and it was very popular,
then the League took it over.  They often don't list it under
the monthly activities (OK, so it's not really a contest, but
nor is Field Day), and one time they had the wrong day listed.
Conditions seemed pretty miserable across the whole of 20m,
though, and perhaps I should have done some self-spotting on
the clusters.

I had my junior op do a bit of CQWW-ssb last October, and she 
thought it was cool 'talking' to Spain etc, and she has done 
some of the All Asian CW contest (after being told which buttons 
to press on the keyer, and giving her age as 60-something), so
she was understandably bored after not working anyone in this
event during the 15 mins she tried (that's a long time for a
nearly-11-yr old!).

Still, we found other things to do for a few hours, and perhaps
we can go by the local FD station next weekend.   Hope to hear
many of you folks in Jan 2012!
