Some of you may know 'Red', W6AE originally from SoCal, now living in
Squaw Valley, near Sequoia Park. we see him each year at Visalia.

By the way, my neighbor and fellow DX club member, Red Stillman/W6AE, says
hello. I doubt if you know it, but Red probably came within an inch of
meeting his maker a couple of months ago when he rolled a tractor at his
home. He ended up under one of the big back wheels and was pinned in for
some time before a CDF crew just happend to drive by (HUGE stroke of good
fortune, as Red lives on a fairly remote ridge) and found him. His wife was
in Colorado for the birth of a grandchild. Red's ankle was severely crushed
(he'll have extra metal on board the rest of his life, I think), and he had
a cracked pelvis, broken ribs, bruised spleen and liver, and a couple of
other injuries. He was evacuated by helicopter.

Red is still in a wheelchair (for the ankle), but should shed that soon,
and
he says his docs say that he'll eventually have a full recovery. (But I'd
still keep my distance from him when he's going through airport security
metal dectors- hi.)
