To all operators an up-date from K6KM.

GE Rick,

Thanks for the update info. Here's an item or 2 to fwd to the
guys who are coming up.

1. You only need to bring foods/snacks that you especially like.
We plan on having edibles available, including at least one BBQ
of tri tip; lots of bacon and eggs for those who eat that stuff and
so forth. We'll honor requests to pick up preferred foods as long
as the requests don't come at the last minute...

2. TO GET HERE:

Pass Oroville on highway 70.

Stay on 70 as it turns right toward the mountains. Pass a few side
roads but stay on 70.

Cross the bridge over the West Branch of the Feather River.

Pass Truex and Rich Gulch roads. Pass the observation point.

Next time you can see to the left, look for antennas.

The road narrows to one lane in your direction. Shortly after,
turn left on Concow road.

Stay on the pavement for about 300 yards. Turn left UP
Sunset Canyon road.

If you get to the fire station, turn around and come back.

At the top of Sunset Canyon turn right/UP on Sky Crest.

Concrete driveway, sign with address 3482. That's us.

Phone 530 / 533-3300

For the REALLY bad navigators, I can come up on 2 meters,
simplex 147.51 preferred.

Hey, let's have a fun contest!

73 de Bill K6KM / JA1OHB

  Hi Guys:

With one week to go before the Contest I have setup a tentative schedule. Now, ..it ain't perfect but please remember that I am trying to balance the requests of ALL OPERATORS. So it's the best I can do with the resources available. IF you can't meet the schedule LET ME KNOW NOW! OK? I don't want to leave our crew to handle a bunch of no-shows at the last minute. Also, if you have a better idea or see an error in the schedule let me know. If you notice, only Jeff is on for the last shift on Friday, if anyone else wishes to plug themselves into that spot (or extend their shift) along with Jeff they are welcome to do it. Also Ron and Jeff will be up on Friday to setup the computers and voice keyers B-4 the contest. If anyone else want to join the crew it ain't too late, e-mail me.

I will let you all know what food and drink we need to bring after I hear from Bill and Ginny.

    Hi ALL
Well it's 2 weeks to go for CQWW and counting, I am sending this to re-affirm the operators and setup a first cut at compatible shifts for all (I HOPE).
My current thinking is we go with a multi-2. Why? Cause there ain't a 10 min. rule and both stations can run as well as hunt mults., this will make for a lean and all band operation.
I think a 6 hr ON PERIOD and a 6 hr OFF PERIOD for all ops will give everyone 12 hrs of operating per day. I plan to have no more than 4 people at Bill and Ginny's place at a time (2 sleeping or eating) they have 2 beds for the OFF-LINE folks, and the other 2 ops will be on-the-air.
Ron N6NIA, will be there the full 48 hrs and I am open for any other 48 hr commitments.
The rest of us will do at least 24 hrs at the station. However, we are short of our 8 person goal (by one operator). Does anyone else want to operate for the whole weekend?

PLEASE E-MAIL ME ASAP so that I know your still in the mix ,as well as how much time u can commit to our effort. The contest starts at 5 PM Friday 28 October and ends Sunday at 5PM 30 October. So... our 6 hour shifts will start at 5PM on Friday. de Rick W6SR
