[Mldxcc] New time/date

Andy, thank you for the compliments on behalf of MLDXCC. I have to make a
quick apology to the YLs for not acknowledging their hard, efficient and hot
work setting the table and cleaning up. The meeting would not come off so
well without their effort.

I also have to stand up for at least some of the NCCC leadership who were
playing in or assisting the WRTC and made the most of the event by taking an
opportunity to take some vacation with friends that converged in Brazil this
year. I was aware that a number would not be able to make it.

This was a tough year for a July meeting for a number of reasons including
high gas prices, heat wave, WRTC, and probably other vacations.

Glad you and Kit had a good time. I'm glad we had the opportunity to see
you both again.

Carolyn,

Thanks to you and all the other MLDXCC OMs and YLs once again for putting
together a great meeting with excellent refreshments.

I too was disappointed in the lack of attendance by NCCCrs in the Bay Area
(though some, like K5RC, came a longer way from the other direction). This
is supposed to be a joint meeting, so it was odd that no NCCC officers
attended, and only one director (K6SRZ, who gave the excellent
presentation). Since no one appeared to have been delegated to run the
meeting as an NCCC meeting, there was, in effect, no actual NCCC meeting. I
can't recall this happening in the past. Richard (NU6T) did a very smooth
job of running the MLDXCC meeting.

Anyway, Kit (W6ISO) and I had a delightful time with the Mother Loders, as
usual.

BTW: on the way back, the temperature gauge in the car went as high as 116
on the freeway, and when I got home to Los Gatos at 5:15, was still at 111
degrees. Whew!
