Got home Friday evening and after supper and chores, sat in the chair to 
play radio, Turned on the Alpha 99 to warm it up, the Field to check the 
bands while waiting for the amp timer and all of a sudden, the Alpha 
shut down. Blew fuse F4. Replaced it and opened again. This is the 
fourth time in two years this amp (purchased new) has failed. Well, that 
took the wind out of my sails. Sent off an email to get a RA from Alpha, 
found the box and packed it.

Went back to the shack totally depressed as it looked like one of those 
rare weekends where I could spend a few hours in the chair. Called a few 
stations using 100 watts but had to yell a lot more than usual, so 
packed it in after a few QSOs.

Eagerly awaiting the fourth trip to CO for still more repairs on this 
Alpha P.O.S.
