This was one of the most fun contests I have ever done
and the first since I moved from W1. The contest was
fun but the adventure leading up to it was even more
fun.

Existing conditions: No tower yet, no 220V in the
shack. Actually no shack to speak of until I build a
room into the garage.

A few weeks before CQP - Rebuilt a dead SB-200 I
acquired and operates on 120V

A week before CQP - Built bridge to place on temporary
operating desk to hold the SB-200. Put up TA-33JR @
10 feet on Radio Shack tripod.

Wednesday before CQP - Realized that a W1 call just
won't make it for CQP so asked the trustee of a
repeater group I belong to if I could borrow their
club call, N6FR. What a waste of a good call. The
only N6FR CW the world has heard before CQP weekend
has been the repeater ID'er.

Friday before CQP - My TS-850 died. Found my TS-450
and set it up. Whoops, can't find the amplifier
keying cable. Still in a moving box. Got out my
ancient FT-767. Still works but an awful contest
radio. Fired it up on 40 meters and found a noise
level of 10/over. Started throwing breakers and
found a noisy power supply from the wireless ISP that
uses my QTH. Can't shut that one off. Decided to do
the entire contest with a Cushcraft R-5 as a receive
antenna (for all bands including 40) that is about 200
feet down the hill from the house.

Call: N6FR
Category: Single Operator
Power: High Power
Band: All Band

MODE QSO QSO PTS MULTS

CW 419 1257 45
SSB 216 432 8
      -----------------------------------------

Totals 635 1689 53 = 89,517
