[Mldxcc] Rig Problems

I have a Kenwood TS-870 that has a bothersome problem.  Also it seems to get worse after using the rig during a contest (Heat?).  The problem is in tuning in a signal, sometimes.  As I tune up the band and stop to "fine tune" at a signal, the display starts to decrease in frequency for 100/300 hertz and then starts tuning back up the band.  If I am tuning rather fast, I sometimes will hear the same signal twice, as the freq goes back and then up again.  This doesn't happen all the time, maybe every 10 or 20 contact.  I have no problem tuning in a signal, but it is frustrating to have to dial back and forth to get tuned in.

Any one have a similar problem?  Don't think many contesters use Kenwoods.  Also any one know of a reliable service company for Kenwoods?
