[Mldxcc] RF Problem?

I am trying to track down an intermittent problem. I'm getting a TX noise
that I've assumed was RF.
It is a medium high noise at 100W, but becomes a pulse noise at about 55W
depending on frequency and antenna (50-60W, I can apply more power at higher
frequencies before the pulse becomes a medium high pitch noise). The change
over is abrupt. It happens on SSB or CW.
Does this behavior suggest any particular source or place to check. I've
applied torroids and reduced the station to as simple a setup as possible.
I'm running an IC-746, microKeyer and computer desktop. I have a dipole to
ant 2, and a ant 1 does to a RCS-4 box and on to a vertical and low
mini-beam.
It may be associated with rain, but also happens when it is dry. It seems
to be most common when I hear a juicy DX <Grin>.
Thanks.
