Folks:

If anyone is interested in joining a competitive FD team down in Monterey, you are welcome to join us, in the
Monterey-Los Padres forest. I am in Rocklin, and plan to go down. The Chews Ridge Gang, is planning/hoping to use their usual 5100 ft mountain top site at Chews Ridge ( 36 18 39N , 121 34 06 W ) for their annual event. Many of us, 40 year FD team veterans trek to Chews from the Silicon Valley Area. The site is about 1.5 hours from Downtown Monterey Peninsula, on good roads, the last 6 miles, good dirt roads that can easily be done in a street car. We are formulating some Plan B locations in the Monterey area, in case Chews becomes inaccessible due to fire danger. Our focus is on HF CW, with Writelog and complete computer control of a < 5 watt class rig, with a crank up tower/trailer, and a KT 36A. We have a Satellite station also.

Here is a photo collection of our Chews Op 2 years ago:

> Hi Folks,
> With only 15 days left to go before FD weekend begins, I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that an MLDXCC Field Day is not going to happen this year. At this point, I don't have any power source, no power cords, no antenna supports (except trees), and only one radio - possibly two. I have five members (including myself) that have expressed interest in coming to Peddler Hill this year. Things are looking bleak. We could probably rent some of the things that we still need, but I can't rationalize the cost, given the size of the club's treasury.
