          SOAPBOX : Comment heard,"Is 20m dead?"  Well it sure was here 
until I discovered that the rig was connected to the 80m ant.  That sure 
makes a reactive dummy load.  The K2 tuner took it OK but I received some 
poor reports.  So whaddya expect first thing Sunday morning?  Otherwise, it 
was slow going with nothing on 10 or 15 meters except for a few locals.  I 
had to spend my time S & P ing because the back-up transceiver was not 
properly interfaced with the "confuser".

I spent considerable time fine tuning a bunch of wave files last week and 
the upshot of that was an open mic circuit in the ICOM 775.  How could that 
have happened?  Anyway that necessted the use of the K2 in the contest. 
It's a good radio but wasn't completly interfaced with the rest of the 
station and I sure wasn't going to work on that during the contest.  It did 
talk to the computer OK though.
     Better luck next year.
