The following is from the 13 August 2009 DailyDX

Well yesterday's news from the ARRL DXCC Desk about 7O1YGF sure did
generate a lot of email traffic! For those who may have missed it the
April 2000 German lead 7O1YGF DXpedition, which shut down abruptly and
then struggled to be approved by Newington, has indeed finally been
accepted by the DXCC Desk.

The German team included DK9KX, DK1II, DL5EBE and DJ7MG, who passed
away several years ago. The 7O1YGF (Yemen-German-Friendship)
DXpedition made some 35,000 QSOs in just less than 10 days.

The ARRL has posted information on both their home page -
www.arrl.org/news/stories/2009/08/12/11022/?nc=1 and on the Century
Club Awards Weblog - www.arrl.org/blog/Century%20Club%20Awards/479.

Immediately after the news broke from Newington your editor emailed
DXCC Awards Branch Manager NC1L, Bill Moore, who has also been
inundated with emails asking all kinds of questions. Normally if
there is an error or correction that needs to take place a simple
email will usually result in DXers not having to resubmit a QSL for
DXCC credit. However ""Due to the large number of QSOs logged into
the system over the past 9 years this is the ONLY way I can handle the
corrections to this operation effectively". So QSL cards (and
applications) must be submitted for ensure proper credit.

For those, like your editor, that did not send for an original QSL, or
for those who lost their original 7O1YGF QSL, and yes one reported
throwing away his 7O1YGF card, it is not too late. The original QSL
routes for 7O1YGF were via DJ3XD for CW and via DK9KX for SSB and
RTTY. Moments before releasing today's edition of The Daily DX your
editor spoke on the phone with DJ3XD, August, who reports he will
handle all of the QSL chores (SSB, CW and RTTY) for all QSOs with
7O1YGF. As of last night there were about 500 QSL cards available and
preparations are being made to order an additional 2,000 7O1YGF cards.
August also reported that DK1II, Franz, will be uploaded the logs to
"LOTW within a fortnight".
