7 hours,
I recently finally got the MonstIR Yagi fully operational
after numerous encounters with Murphy since last fall.
I used the contest to check out the MonstIR
and look for DXCC entities I need on the low bands,
mainly focusing on 40 meters. The MonstIR was
outstanding on 40, being several S units better than
the inverted vee most of the time. One interesting
thing was that at times the inverted vee had a severe
echo due to simulaneous short and long path. Of
course this went away with the Yagi. 40 meters is
actually fun now instead of being frustrating. I
was even able to work long path in the morning,
which was never possible with the inverted vee.
On 80, it was back to the inverted vee, resulting
in minimal activity. Nothing much on 160, although
I worked K5D on SSB. He was going by numbers and I
was the only 6 he heard.
I recently finally got the MonstIR fully operational
after numerous encounters with Murphy since last fall.
I used spotting, so I entered as Multi-One. Hope this
is the correct category.
