Soapbox : thanks to K6DGW for the use of his station--low score due to operator. I arrived for this session out of sorts and anxious for no good reason. Fred set up the K3 DVK and it worked well with minor adjustments to the script. I just could not get my brain going. Planned to operate till midnight with a 450 QSO stretch goal. Not even close. Still, had a good time, learned much, and really enjoyed the K3. My K3/10 is in the box waiting for construction time. Will grow it into a K3/100 with bells and whistles. Planned to drive to W6SR and perhaps operate from early morning to end.

Soapbox : NU6T @ W6SR using K7DX. Called Rick and told him I would arive the next morning.
Started late on 15 S&P. Felt I was doing OK on the band map. Tried to run, but was not having success ad back to S&P. Rick "nudged" me to try running and I moved to 20m and found a spot. Almost moved, but stayed due to Rick's advice. Thanks to the spotters, the pile hit and I really ran for the first time. The rate really took off. WOW! REALLY WOW! My 60 minute max rate was 118, and I had 10 minute rates above 130, and short bursts above 240. That was a first for me. OK, now I get it. I continued to run for the rest of the contest with brief S&P dashes to pick up mults on the band map. In retrospect I probably should have cleared the band map a few times and probably should have picked up another 50+ QSOs on 40m and 80m. Of course, I should have started earlier and started running from the git go. Last needed mults were UT and W6s. Got UT, LAX, SDG and SB, and only needed ORG for the sweep. I was temped to run the band map in the last half hour but was determined to continue running. Everyone says that the mults will come to you. ORG came to me in the last 3 minutes. WOW!
Once I got running I only got bumped once. They were making Qs and I was not. Wow. Thanks, Rick.
Thanks to Mitch for the use of K7DX. Great call that really helped my weak CW effort from home and was used for the runs at W6SR. Thanks to Fred K6DGW and Rick W6SR for the use of their stations. Thanks to Fred and Jack for setting up DVK systems. Thanks to Jim W6XV for organizing the various HMO rotations.
Goal was a KB 1000. Final QSO count CW + SSB: 948. Ouch. It was quite possible and should have happened. Next Year! Previous max QSO count: 755. A 25% increase is comforting.
We need a webinar on running for little pistols.
