Just a reminder for those who will not be present at the meeting...

We will attempt to address the proposed bylaws this month. If you did
not attend last month’s meeting, please submit a vote on the proposed
bylaws by email or via the reflector to our Secretary, Robert Hess,
W1RH. We had a motion to accept the proposed bylaws as written and had
a unanimous vote at the meeting. Our current bylaws require a 2/3 vote
in approval and we are short of that number. While it is not clear in
the bylaws, we are including all dues paying members in that number.
The proposal includes a limit of three years for any elected office.
The current bylaws have a one-year limit. Carolyn is willing to
continue as Treasurer, and it makes sense to many of us that we should
eliminate the time limit rather than go with the three years. I will
propose an amendment to make that change once the current vote is
complete. I first mentioned that our bylaws no longer matched our
practice early this year and sent a copy of the then existing bylaws
out on the reflector and asked that everyone review them and suggest
improvements. I included a reminder in the May Nugget, and Rick
provided a copy of the proposal in that Nugget.
Please review issues and be prepared to raise any issues that need
resolution. I’d like to address any issues and complete this task this
month—Please!

Please provide your vote to Robert Hess, W1RH, by Friday, October 16:

___ I vote in favor of the p[proposed bylaws as published in the Nugget.

___ I vote opposed to the p[proposed bylaws as published in the Nugget.
