Hi MLDXCC'ers,

CQWW SSB begins in about an hour from when I'm writing this.  Since NCCC does not consider CQWW a "focus" contest, we're going to do what we always do and submit a MLDXCC score.  If you're going to be active, please remember to submit your score on behalf of the Mother Lode DX/Contest Club.

For most, if not all of us, CQWW is going to be primarily a search-and-pounce effort from the West Coast.  Use packet heavily and just click on the spots, while verifying the call sign is correct.  I can't emphasize that enough.  You can really make good use of packet in a contest like CQWW but there are so many busted calls.  Just verify the call before you log the contact.  You can also try running JA's, but for most it will be difficult to run the EU's.

It should be real easy to do 100 Q's using S&P from a 100 watt stations.  Higher powered stations should be able to do 500 Q's over the weekend.

No pressure, however.  Just have fun.

As for myself, if I can get the crew together, part of the weekend will be spent getting the big beam on tower #2.  Nevertheless, I'll be good for a few hundred Q's, I hope.

Good luck and have fun.

Bob
