Hi Everyone,

I was at last night's meeting and thought I'd give a brief run-down of what transpired.

Visalia - NCCC runs the show this year.  K6MM reminded everyone to register.  Prizes total $45K, including an Alpha KW auto tuner and an Elecraft package (that goes to a single winner) that includes a K3 transceiver, a P3 panadapter, and the KPA500 amplifier.

Bylaws Change - I gave a pitch for a bylaws change to allow officers a second or third consecutive term.  Currently, NCCC officers are not allowed more than one term in office.

Contest Scores - N6DE discussed the RTTY Roundup and NAQP efforts.  Looks like we will win RTTY by a landslide.  We're way ahead in NAQP, but this is the first round of a 6 round boxing match.  Next is SSB and that's NCCC's weak spot.

K6TU Propagation Service - Stu gave an excellent talk on the K6TU.net service he runs.  He has subscribers from all over the world.  It's free to NCCC members (paid),  which is a really nice perk.  I used the service for the RTTY RU and NAQP contests the last couple of weekends.  You put in your coordinates and station type (antennas) and the service will spit out 24 hours worth of propagation studies for your location.  Coming soon is a slick point-to-point study (your location to Heard Island, for instance).  Also in the works is a wrapper around HFTA which will base the studies around your HFTA input, making terrain a factor.

There were a few MLDXCC members there including N6DW and W1SRD.

Bob
