Hello MLDXCC'ers!

This coming weekend is what our club is all about.  It's the California QSO Party.  

Are you ready?  I took most of this week off to prepare for the contest.

This is the contest that puts our club on the map.  Year after year, we win the CQP club competition, but for the last few years, it has been by a narrow margin over our arch rival, REDXA.  

REDXA wants to win this year.  Jim, K6JS, their president, says that he is determined to have REDXA get the club plaque this year.

The reason MLDXCC has won year after year is because of the amount of logs submitted on behalf of our members.  We're not necessarily looking for big scores.  It's the amount of logs with perhaps 100 contacts or less that make the difference.

I know the big stations in our club will be on the air this weekend but we need more than just the big guns.  We need you guys with the wire antennas and triband beams to get on and make a few points.

Harry, W6HFM, put a small triband beam up this week that I gave him.  He's good for 100 or so Q's.  Mell, N6MCM, has refined his remote station, located in Rescue, and he's good for 100 Q's.  Verne, W6VMT, has put up a Hex-Beam and he is aiming for more than 100 Q's.  Rick, WA6NHC, is going to do what he can with his wire antenna.  K6OK will be operating from W6SR's place.  Jay, KE6GLA, despite family commitments, will be on for a few hours this weekend.  Same with Kirby, AF6OP and Jim, K6OLY..  All of these guys are MLDXCC members preparing to have some fun this weekend and do their part for the club.  If each one makes 100 Q's, you can see how the points add up.

How about you?  If you have an hour available, or more, please get on the air.  Call CQ CQP, and have a ball.   And, when you're QRT, submit your log on behalf of MLDXCC. 

Oh, and you guys participating in multi-op county dxpeditions.....please remember to submit your share of the points on behalf of MLDXCC.
