[Mldxcc] NCCC Focus Contests

I'm preparing a presentation for the El Dorado club on how to do RTTY.  It will involve two transceivers and an actual simulated contest and DX QSO between the two transceivers.  I'll have two projectors, one on each station/computer.  Jay, KE6GLA, will provide the radios.  If there is enough interest, I could probably do this for a Mother Lode meeting.

This is more a "RTTY for Dummies" talk as a way to get more interested in RTTY.  WK6I would sleep through it :)

The talk is scheduled for October, so if there is any interest, I could do it for an October MLDXCC meeting too, with some of the others in the club chiming in.

It would be perfect timing for RTTY RU.   RTTY contesting is a lot of fun and another mode our non-CW guys could get hooked on.

If there is enough interest here on the reflector, we can consider a "RTTY Starter" talk followed by a serious go at RTTY RU.  I could see us with an easy win of the Medium Club category.  With WK6I, K6LRN, W1SRD and others, this would be like shooting fish in a barrel!

Since NCCC is giving up on RTTY RU this year, I'd like to see us take that one.
Everyone can participate (no CW vs SSB) and it's work anyone anywhere contest on each band.

Steve

Terrific meeting last night, with N6TV's WRTC presentation.

It was announced, prior to Bob's presentation, that the NCCC focus contests will
 be:

Sweepstakes
NAQP

All other contests are up for grabs for MLDXCC.  If we were going to seriously focus on a contest, it should probably be an ARRL contest in the Medium Club category.
