AFSK is just fine for most purposes. As long as you follow the directions
for your transceiver on setting up the audio drive you'll be fine. Also
take care you don't end up with the tones reversed.

There are at least two reasons many of us opt for FSK. One is that the
setup is simpler and doesn't change with band changes - on some rigs you
have to readjust the audio drive on band change. The other is that some
rigs filters don't work in the tone range (I had that with an old JRC
rig...) Chances are with a more modern rig you won't have this issue.
