Our esteemed President Rick N6RK has let me know there may have been some confusion regarding the announcement of K6TD Directing our 50th anniversary CQP event.  Let me take a moment to clarify this assignment.     There is not a leadership change underway with CQP at this time.  I currently remain Chairman of CQP.    K6TD has agreed to take on the role of Directing the 50th anniversary event.  This event is a very special milestone for its sponsor, (yes, that’s us, the NCCC) for all  who contributed and developed the contest, as well as those who participated in over the last half century.  Because of this, I felt it important to assign someone who has the skill and experience to co-ordinate a major special event and would be enthusiastic in doing so.  Kevin K6TD has that background, skill, experience and enthusiasm.      I will work with Kevin to make sure this event is something special for all.   I have 100% confidence in his ability to do so.    I hope that clarifies any confusion regarding this assignment. There is a lot of work to do between now and the starting bell, let’s let our team focus on making it great.    Once again please join me in welcoming K6TD back to our CQP family as ONE of MANY tireless volunteers making sure the Mother of all QSO Parties stays that way.  We appreciate each and every one of them.    We still have several needs for volunteers to fill critical roles on the CQP team.  If you are willing to spend a bit of your time to be a part of one of the NCCC’s shining stars, or if you have any questions regarding any of this, please feel free to email me directly or give me a call.
