[Mldxcc] Multi-Multi Question

Shirl,
In doing log-checking, I have seen just about everything.
Writelog assigns a contact number sequentially, regardless of which radio made the Q, as long as they are all connected by a LAN. Radio 1 makes contact one, Radio two makes contact 2, Radio 1 makes contact 3 and 4, etc. You will never see two of the same contact numbers.
Field Day operations generally merge the logs and the result may be the same contact number multiple times on a log. I have seen this several times in CQP log checking.
Regardless, it shouldn't make any difference as long as the time/freq/call/exchange agree with the other station's log. One of the common problems I have seen in log checking is the wrong band shown for a contact. If you are merging logs after the contest for each station, make sure the band/freq is correct. I have also seen this problem in M/M and M/S computerized operations using LANS.
Bob

Subject: [Mldxcc] Multi-Multi Question
A little help please. What is the method of QSO numbering when doing an MM operation? Do you allocate different numbers for the different bands/modes? Even on a LAN it seems to me that there could be a conflict in issuing numbers. Please advise.
