FYI - This (RTTY in CQP) has been hotly debated before, although not
recently.

When I was CQP chair, I proposed adding a digital mode with digital QSOs =
3 pts (like CW).

I was finally convinced to drop the proposal by WX5S (and others) who made
the point that while CQP is just a fun event for most, it is a serious
competition for the top tier entrants. They would not like such a major
change to their strategy. It isn't so much that they would have to spend a
lot of time on RTTY (and therefore miss out on CW and SSB time), but that
others would be on RTTY instead of being available for CW and SSB QSOs.
Therefore they would wind up with less. In addition, historical records
would be incompatible (I hold several county records, so this was hard to
swallow).

The final reason: CQP is a success. Why screw around with it?
