John, I should have stated that I got them on abt the 10th or 11th call... 10 was in pretty good shape, and working dual split, found a talk freq. that wasn't very busy.Despite severe QSB that dropped him into the noise floor, and 5 seconds later, S-9.... Go figure!  After working with RF for 40 years, I've  coined a phrase that kinda sums it up... "PFM", "Pure friggin' magic"Jim k6lr

Worked K1N on 10 CW at 1837...filling all the slots I needed.
Good signal strength...about S 9 with some propagation to
west coast as several 6 calls were worked before me.
Storm blew my antenna about 90 degrees toward N.
When I realized that & oriented properly signals were better.
