The Good, the Bad, the Ugly of Glenn County (CCE)
Good:
Beautiful day, almost WAS, equipment worked great (Yaesu FT-991, YP3 Yagi @24ft).
Bad:
Hard to find a clear frequency battling with HP stations. Slow rate. Lonely out there :(
Ugly:
Early afternoon, a tractor began plowing dry field nearby so I was inundated with dust. So much so, I had to leave.
On Sunday, at my QTH, I set up my antenna and station in my driveway (per CCE rules) and got 50 contacts as Sacramento County. But I was so busy cleaning dirt off everything; I didn't run uninterrupted to the end so my numbers were not what I would have liked. Can I blame it on the solar storm?
Next year CCE? We'll see.
Dave K6KNS
