This was the maiden voyage for my Flex 6700. Used the computer display with Smart SDR in one monitor and Writelog in the other. Did not try the Maestro. This one was all keyboard operation. I wasn't able to get audio working properly in each ear, so wasn't able to try SO2R. Need to figure that one out. This was a learning session.
I bit the bullet and ripped out the two FT-1000MP's, SO2R box and lots of other stuff and went beyond the point of no return. No regrets. I love this radio. The ability to handle noise really decreases the fatigue that can be brought on by all kinds of noise. It hears far better than the MP's. I was working stuff I never would have heard with the MP's. Filters are awesome. Just need to figure out why I can't hear one radio in one ear and the other radio in the other ear. Once I do that, I'll be back in the saddle with SO2R.
Many thanks to W1SRD, N6WM, and K6TU for answering Flex related questions prior to the contest.
Would have been full time but had to make an airport run to pick up my wife, and daughter/boyfriend.
Nice to hear so many KB'ers including N6TV!
