150w here to Inv L w/ quite a modest number (maybe 20) of on-ground
radials.  So, Rick, guess you were using too much power!  What a strange
band.  I nearly fell out of the chair with surprise when he responded.
Distance is 8200 miles, one of the strongest signals ever heard here from
that far.  He first called N6RO, who was not on, so figured it was me. (if
you look in detail at the Morse characters, N6RO is embedded in N6ZFO,
 leave out the Z and first dit of the F and you get RO; and of course Ken
is a familiar and loud signal on top band).

His strategy last night was up 2.0 +/- about 400 Hz.  So the trick was to
listen to the station he was working, and then make a slight shift up or
down on the 2nd vfo. I must have found a hole in the wall and sneaked
through.  He called you about 6 times over a 2-minute period.  I believe
same situation with Dave, KA6BIM, an NCCC member in OR.  Not sure if a qso
resulted.
